As Omnitek continues to grow by serving our clients with the highest quality of electronic design services, we are excited to announce that we will be moving into a new Design Center that allows us to more efficiently and effectively bring our client's projects to life. The new unit is an open and collaborative environment with a focus on larger R&D Laboratory areas.
We will be moving in May 2013. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
It is our hope that this will be a smooth transition into a more space efficient, lab focused workplace. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office. We look forward to sharing a next chapter of innovative success stories with our current and future clients.

One of the major challenges emerging companies face is finding the right resources to move their product or idea closer to commercialization.
NorTech FlexMatters, A regional innovation cluster involved the promotion of the flexible electronics industry in Northeast Ohio, is hosting a one-day industry workshop and networking event to connect flexible electronics companies with Northeast Ohio prototyping and manufacturing resources.
During the workshop, a series of industry experts (including our Senior Electronics Engineer, Dan Steinel) will present their capabilities for developing prototypes and pilot manufacturing for flexible electronics in five markets: Aerospace & Defense, BioFlex, Consumables, Commercial Electronics and Consumer Electronics.

Omnitek Welcomes New Employees in 2012!

We are excited to welcome Brian Dorenkott as the new addition to our Engineering team. As our new Electronics Engineer, he will assist our Hardware and Software teams in order to develop new innovative products with our Clients.
A recent graduate of Ohio University, with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Brian has worked on many exciting projects including a tracking system using infrared cameras and stereo vision. When he is not engineering, Brian enjoys going out with his friends, watching movies, traveling, and snowboarding. In his new role, Brian hopes to "learn as much as possible here, from board design to code design. Omnitek offers me the ability for me to do everything in between and I can’t wait to experience it all."

Omnitek is delighted to welcome Sharon Means to our dynamic team. Sharon will be joining Omnitek as our Controller and will assist Omnitek with all accounting activities, project pricing, and billing. She is a highly-recommended CPA and will be bringing her extensive experience in accounting and finance to our growing design firm.

Small Businesses Make it Happen in NE Ohio
A record number of people turned out for the JumpStart Northeast Ohio Entrepreneur Expo in Akron last week. Nearly one thousand members of the region’s entrepreneurial community participated in a day filled with educational and networking opportunities. Omnitek found itself among many hard-working entrepreneurs with a passion for innovation. It's exciting to be a part of the many small businesses who are taking an active role in the economic transformation of our Region.

We've Moved!

As Omnitek continues to grow and add more capabilities and equipment, we have expanded into the adjacent unit. This will include 3,000+ square feet for engineering labs, conference room, and office space. This new dynamic space will promote an open and collaborative environment between our engineers and clients and will demonstrate our commitment to providing the highest quality of electronic design services.
We would like to thank our clients for their continued support and opportunities. Client information will be handled with the utmost care as we move our server, computers, hardcopy files, equipment, and circuit boards into the new space. Our current mailing address, fax number, and telephone number will remain the same.

Advanced Energy Show was a Success!
Omnitek had a wonderful time at the Advanced Energy B2B Show on Wednesday and Thursday. Some of the exciting technology displayed at the show included alternative oil sources, fuel cells, and an electric car built by University of Akron students.

Helping develop future engineers.
Omnitek was pleased to host Devin Brown, a student from Nordonia High School, at our design facility. During his 50-hour internship he received experience programming with QT graphics tools, working with RFID evaluation kits, and was given the opportunity to populate his own circuit board. Devin will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering at Ohio State in the fall.
Congratulations to the winnners of the Omnitek BEST Sensors/Medical IT Award:
Congratulations to the hard-working middle school and high school students who participated in the BEST Medicine event at the Akron Inventors Hall of fame on April 2nd. There were certainly many innovative medical technologies displayed by the aspiring students. One of our winners was awarded a summer internship with the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA) to continue her work with sensor technologies.
